Shabbat Service Schedule

So, what time are Shabbat services?  Because times vary, we suggest that you always check here on the web site or in your copy of the bulletin to be sure you have the right time.

  • On the first and third Fridays of most months, services start at 7:00 p.m.
  • On most other Fridays, services start at 8:00 p.m.
  • On Saturdays, Shabbat morning services start at 10:00 a.m.
  • On the second Saturday of most months, our Shake It Up Shabbat tot service downstairs starts at 9:00 a.m.
  • In the summer, the schedule changes.  Friday services start at 6 p.m. and Saturday services start at 9:30 a.m.

First Fridays – Family Services and Pot Luck Dinner

5:30 - Family Shabbat Service

On the first Friday of the month, starting at 5:30 p.m., we hold our monthly “Family Shabbat Service” for families with young children. This short, family-friendly service includes a special story, wonderful singing and an opportunity to let kids feel good about being Jewish while still being free to act…like kids.

6:00 - Congregational Pot Luck Shabbat Dinner

Following the Family Shabbat service, our entire congregation is invited to gather in the auditorium at approximately 6:00 p.m. for a dairy, pot luck Shabbat dinner.  This monthly dinner is open to the entire congregation – a real opportunity for an inter-generational celebration of Shabbat. All we’ll need is you (and a dairy dish or salad for dinner!).

7:00 - Youth Kehillah downstairs

Following our First Friday congregational dinner, at 7:00 p.m., we send our older students downstairs for the Youth Kehillah service. This monthly service gives students a wonderful opportunity to pray and to help lead a Shabbat service.

7:00 - First Friday Shabbat Service upstairs

Upstairs, also starting at 7:00 p.m., we hold our regular First Friday Shabbat Service while Youth Kehillah goes on downstairs.

That’s “First Fridays”-- be sure to join us!

Third Fridays – Tefillah Band

On the third Friday of almost every month, we gather at 7:00 p.m. to celebrate Shabbat with Rabbi Kraus and the energizing, inspiring music of our fabulous Tefillah Band. Many congregants describe these Tefillah Band services as their favorites of the year. Come join us to sing, dance, and pray.

Whatever time your service starts, we hope you’ll plan to join us to celebrate Shabbat and experience the warmth, inspiration, fellowship and joy of Shabbat at BETC.
